Haverhill Leisure Centre – 1 mile
Haverhill Leisure Centre is located 1 mile from the Days Inn Haverhill.
The recently refurbished Haverhill Leisure Centre offers guests access to the following facilities:

Haverhill Golf Club – 1 mile
Haverhill Golf Club is located 1 mile from Days Inn Haverhill, reduced green fees are available for hotel guests.
Haverhill Golf Club has an 18 hole course and an attractive and comfortable club house. The golf course lies across two valleys and is set in pleasant parkland.
The front nine with its undulating fairways is admirably complemented by a saucer shaped back nine which is bisected by the River Stour as it meanders through a course with greens reputed to be among the best in Suffolk. The Haverhill golf course will present a challenge to both the seasoned golfer and newcomer alike.
East Town Park - 1.6 miles
Situated to the east of Haverhill on the edge of the town East Town Park in Coupals Road is a 50 acre country park which is open all year. The park received its first Green Flag award in 2008.
The park centre is a converted stable block with toilets, a picnic area, children’s play area and an easy access trail suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs and people with reduced mobility which highlights the wildlife that you can find in the park. Admission and car parking is free.
Linton Zoo - 8.6 miles
At Linton Zoo emphasis is on conservation and education, while providing an enjoyable family outing. There is a wealth of rare and exotic creatures to see including Tigers, Lions, Tapirs, Lemurs, Binturongs, Owls, Parrots, Giant Tortoises, Tarantula Spiders and many others. Set in 18 acres of beautiful gardens with plenty of picnic areas, free parking within zoo grounds and childrens play areas. There is also a coffee shop and gift shop (restricted winter opening hours).
Clare Ancient House Museum – 7.6 miles
Clare Ancient House is a Grade I Listed Building, and is recognised as having national importance. The East wing, on the High Street, is believed to date from the 14th century, and the more heavily decorated West wing may have been built in 1473, the date which appears in the plasterwork of the house. It is first mentioned in a will of 1502, which refers to the new and the old parts.
Spains Hall – 8.1 miles
Spains Hall is undoubtedly one of Essex's premier wedding venues and the perfect setting for the perfect wedding day. From the meticulous restoration of the Elizabethan Hall and adjoining rooms, the stylish and modern facilities of The Stables, through to the immaculately maintained gardens and grounds, their preoccupation with detail is evident. This allows you to concentrate on enjoying your day and entertaining your guests without any distraction.
Colne Valley Railway – 9.8 miles
Sample the atmosphere and take a ride on an award winning period country railway. A pretty line, relocated station buildings, signal boxes and bridges all lovingly restored and rebuilt. A large and varied collection of operational vintage steam and diesel engines, carriages and wagons that represent much of our Railway Heritage is available to explore around.
Chilford Hall Vineyard & Conference Centre – 9.5 miles www.chilfordhall.co.uk
One of the largest exhibition, conference and banqueting centres in the East of England, Chilford Hall is a unique venue with its own 20 acre award winning Vineyard. Located less than 20 minutes from Haverhill Chilford Hall enjoys more than a quarter of a century of unrivalled expertise and a reputation for managing all expectations the 21st century demands. It is an ideal wedding venue.
Hedingham Castle – 11 miles
Hedingham Castle's Norman keep, 110 feet high, was built c.1140 by Aubrey de Vere and is still owned by one of his descendants, Jason Lindsay and his wife Demetra. There are four floors to explore, including a magnificent Banqueting Hall spanned by a remarkable 28 foot arch, one of the largest Norman arches in England. A good view of this splendid room can be obtained from the Minstrels' Gallery, built within the thickness of the 12 foot walls. A visit to the castle and its beautiful grounds is ideal for a family outing, and during the summer there are a variety of special events which bring its colourful history alive, including exciting Jousting Tournaments.
Duxford Imperial War (Air) Museum – 15.8 miles
Duxford Imperial War Museum is established as the European centre of aviation history.
The historic site, outstanding collections of exhibits and regular world-renowned air shows combine to create a unique museum where history really is in the air.
Alpheton Hall Barns – 17.2 miles
Alpheton Hall Barns is an historic wedding venue located close to the Suffolk / Essex Border and set in a remote rural location surrounded by more than 1,000 acres of organic farmland, yet under a mile off the A134 main road. The barns are of exceptional historic importance and are full of intrigue and romance. They have been restored to a very high traditional standard and licensed for civil ceremonies for 200 guests.

Newmarket is the historic Home of Horseracing and the greatest horseracing centre in the world. It offers a treasure trove of sights and sounds for the racing enthusiast. Quite simply anyone with even just a passing interest in the “Sport of Kings” should visit Newmarket at least once in their lifetime.
