Haverhill Golf Course – 1.0 mile
Haverhill Golf Club in Suffolk is perfectly located 20 miles south east of Cambridge, 17 miles west of Bury St Edmunds, 18 miles north of Braintree and some 30 miles north west of Colchester. The front nine with its undulating fairways is admirably complemented by a saucer shaped back nine which is bisected by the River Stour as it meanders through a course with greens reputed to be among the best in the county, and will present a challenge to both the seasoned golfer and newcomer alike.

Linton Zoo - 8.6 miles
 
At Linton Zoo emphasis is on conservation and education, while providing an enjoyable family outing. There is a wealth of rare and exotic creatures to see including Tigers, Lions, Tapirs, Lemurs, Binturongs, Owls, Parrots, Giant Tortoises, Tarantula Spiders and many others. Set in 18 acres of beautiful gardens with plenty of picnic areas, free parking within zoo grounds and childrens play areas. There is also a coffee shop and gift shop (restricted winter opening hours).

Clare Ancient House Museum– 7.6 miles

Clare Ancient House is a Grade I Listed Building, and is recognised as having national importance. The East wing, on the High Street, is believed to date from the 14th century, and the more heavily decorated West wing may have been built in 1473, the date which appears in the plasterwork of the house. It is first mentioned in a will of 1502, which refers to the new and the old parts.

Colne Valley Railway – 9.8 miles

Sample the atmosphere and take a ride on an award winning period country railway. A pretty line, relocated station buildings, signal boxes and bridges all lovingly restored and rebuilt. A large and varied collection of operational vintage steam and diesel engines, carriages and wagons that represent much of our Railway Heritage is available to explore around.

Chilford Hall Vineyard & Conference Centre – 9.5 miles

One of the largest exhibition, conference and banqueting centres in the East of England, Chilford Hall is a unique venue with its own 20 acre award winning Vineyard. Located just 20 minutes from Cambridge with excellent road links to the M11 and A14, Chilford Hall enjoys more than a quarter of a century of unrivalled expertise and a reputation for managing all expectations the 21st century demands.

Hedingham Castle – 11 miles

Hedingham Castle's Norman keep, 110 feet high, was built c.1140 by Aubrey de Vere and is still owned by one of his descendants, Jason Lindsay and his wife Demetra. There are four floors to explore, including a magnificent Banqueting Hall spanned by a remarkable 28 foot arch, one of the largest Norman arches in England. A good view of this splendid room can be obtained from the Minstrels' Gallery, built within the thickness of the 12 foot walls. A visit to the castle and its beautiful grounds is ideal for a family outing, and during the summer there are a variety of special events which bring its colourful history alive. Come and enjoy one of our exciting Jousting Tournaments or other entertainments.

Duxford Imperial War (Air) Museum – 15.8 miles

Newmarket Race Course – 15.3 miles

Newmarket is the historic Home of Horseracing and the greatest horseracing centre in the world. It offers a treasure trove of sights and sounds for the racing enthusiast.
